Luciérnaga couldn’t be happier to have been accepted to participate in the Agora Partnerships Accelerator Program class of 2014 – a Latin American focused, entrepreneurial think tank, to which we’ll be taking staff from Honduras, Nicaragua and the US. Agora’s mission is to accelerate the success of early-stage entrepreneurs committed to building businesses that create shared value and address critical social and environmental challenges. The Agora Accelerator is an intensive program designed to give entrepreneurs access to the knowledge, networks, and capital they need to succeed.
Today, we are conducting a crowdfunding campaign to support the costs of our teams getting to this valuable training because participating in the Agora Partnerships program is a proven way to grow high impact ventures. In the first 3 cycles of operation, companies that participated in the Accelerator increased their net income by an average of 74%, income that for Luciérnaga could be used to reinvest in bringing off-grid energy solutions to thousands of more people who need it. Additionally, Agora companies on average receive $24 in investment for every dollar spent on the Impact Accelerator. This means that for $8000, Luciérnaga should see an investment of almost $200,000 in much needed seed capital!
